Write a composition in about ' A Village Fair '.

                                        " A VILLAGE FAIR "   

              

Introduction : A village fair is a large gathering of the village people. it is held once or twice a year on special occasions. A village fair is only a great source of joy but also it is a main attraction to the village people.

Site and occasion : It is generally held in some open place either on the bank of a river or in the yard of a temple. The occasion may be a religious one or the death or birth anniversary of a holy men of the locality. Now a days some fairs are organized by government or public bodies and they may last even for a fortnight or a month.

Gathering of villages : All sections of the village people gather at a village fair. They are saints and saddles, the rich and the poor, the young and the old, children as well as women. A large crowd is therefore, formed and the noise is deafening.

Goods and articles in the fair for sale : A village fair is a kind of small exhibition of rural arts and crafts. The provincial craftsmen and skilled workers make different helpful articles which are brought to the reasonable and offered available to be purchased. Small traders come here from far and near to sell their goods. They bring cloths of various kinds, ready-made garments, cheap fancy goods, dolls, utensils, cheap sweets and other things useful to the villagers. The fancy goods have the greatest demand in a fair. They consist of dolls, ribbons, whistles, fans, magic wires, small looking glasses and such other things.

Special attractions : There are many forms of amusements in a village fair. Travelling, jatra parties, circus parties, nagardolas etc. are special attractions of a fair. Cinema parties also show pictures to the people. Sometimes a magic lantern show is also arranged. A magician too is found in a village fair. There are the dancing of dolls and feats of skill done of ropes and bamboo's. Some of these are really wonderful.

Bad effect  : A village fair has some dark sides too. Gambling is held here and it makes the ordinary people lose their money. Sometimes it is beset with unexpected people who create crisis here.

Conclusion : A village fair is a happy occasion. Simple villagers try to enjoy its charms. It brings a good recreation for the villagers. So, it should be kept free from all kinds of evils.
