Write a composition in about ' Rivers of Bangladesh '.

                   " RIVERS OF BANGLADESH "

Bangladesh is a land of rivers. Perhaps no other country of the world has so many rivers like ours. The rivers of Bangladesh  are a great source of wealth. Tha Padma, the Meghna, the Brahmaputra, the Jamuna  and the Karnafully pass through our country. These rivers are very large and become terrible in the rainy season. Other rivers like the old Brahmaputra, Madhumati, Dhaleswari, Arialkha, Sitalakhya, Karatowa, Atrai, Gumti are not so large but are widely known. Besides there is a network of other small rivers throughout the country. All the rivers of Bangladesh are the branches of the three big rivers the Padma, the Meghna, the Brahmaputra. Our economy is directly connected with the rivers. Our country is watered by these rivers and the soil is very fertile. So our farmers can produce maximum crops. Our rivers are important means of communication. Boats, launchs, steamers, ferries ply on these rivers. Men and commodities are carried from one place to another through them. These rivers also play an important role to industrialize the country. Our capital city, ports, big bazars and trade centers are on the bank of these rivers. Various fishes are found in our rivers. Hilsa of the Padma is famous in the world. A large numbers of fisherman depend on the rivers for their livelihood. Rivers have influenced our writers, poets and artists. They got their deep thoughts from the rivers. And thus the rivers have enriched our literature. Though like other objects of nature, rivers are not only an unmixed blessing for us. The rivers are not only a blessing: sometimes they overflow their banks and causes floods. They destroys lives, crops, cattles and properties. In this riverine country like other objects of nature rivers are not also unmixed blessing. Because sometimes they cause us a lot of troubles.
